About This Event
Berlin Art Week 2025 takes place from September 10-14, transforming the German capital into a vibrant hub for contemporary art. This five-day festival marks the start of the new art season every September, featuring over 100 museums, galleries, collections, project spaces, and an art fair that showcase the latest in contemporary artistic expression.
The festival center “Berlin Art Week Garden” is hosted this year at Hamburger Bahnhof – National Gallery of Contemporary Art, serving as the central meeting point where visitors can access information, participate in daily programming, and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. The venue offers workshops, DJ sets, interviews, concerts, and performances throughout the festival week.
Berlin Art Week presents a diverse festival programme of contemporary art in collaboration with major Berlin art institutions, featuring everything from established museums to independent project spaces. Major venues include the Neue Nationalgalerie with its PERFORM! festival series, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, and Kindl – Centre for Contemporary Art, each presenting world-class exhibitions and performances.
Gallery Night takes place on Thursday, September 11, from 6 to 10 PM, when 48 galleries participating in Gallery Weekend Berlin extend their opening hours. The Positions Berlin Art Fair features 75 selected galleries from 18 countries presenting their most important artistic positions at the former Tempelhof Airport, creating a unique exhibition space in the historic hangars.
The festival also includes special programs such as “Discovering Collections!” which opens private collections to the public, innovative performance formats, and site-specific installations throughout the city, making Berlin Art Week one of Europe’s most comprehensive contemporary art festivals.
