Contemporary Istanbul stands as one of the world’s premier international art fairs, transforming Turkey’s cultural capital into a global contemporary art destination. Now celebrating its 19th edition, this prestigious event has evolved from the 21st art fair established globally in 2006 to become a cornerstone among over 350 art fairs worldwide.

The fair’s impressive scale reflects its international significance. In 2024, Contemporary Istanbul showcased 809 exceptional works from 53 contemporary art galleries representing 14 countries, demonstrating the event’s truly global reach. The fair’s magnetic appeal drew over 30,628 visitors, including 2,069 international attendees from 43 countries, with 690 specially invited guests contributing to the fair’s exclusive atmosphere.

Media recognition has been equally remarkable, with 184 press members covering the event, including 34 international journalists from 17 countries, amplifying Contemporary Istanbul‘s influence across global art circles.

Since its inception, Contemporary Istanbul has maintained its partnership with principal sponsor Akbank, creating a stable foundation for cultural excellence.
